This work represents Saint Therese of Avila with the habit of her Order; On the table there is a book and an inkwell, as well as the mortarboard that alludes to the divine inspiration of her writings that have earned her the title of Doctor of the Church. This was captured by the artist in the breaking of Glory in which the dove of the Holy Spirit appears.
Daughter of a stately family from Ávila, Spain she reformed the Carmelite order and founded 32 convents in Spain. 
The Holy Spirit is inspiring the Saint here with the godly words of: “Spiritu Intelligettie Replevitillam” - I will be filled with intelligence and spirit

Excellent overall condition. no damage or missing parts. Small chips in the paint in unimportant areas.
