Biography: Saint Catherine of Alexandria is revered as an early Christian virgin martyr celebrated for her wisdom and steadfast faith. According to tradition, she confounded pagan scholars, survived an attempted execution on a breaking wheel through miraculous intervention, and was subsequently beheaded in the early fourth century. Honored as a patron of students, scholars and philosophers, she continues to inspire courage in witnessing to Christ. Her feast is celebrated on 25 November.
 
Reliquary guarantee 
 
The reverse retains a red heraldic wax seal from His Eminence Costantino Patrizi Naro, Dean of the College of Cardinals securing the threads and providing physical evidence that the reliquary remained sealed under ecclesiastical authority.
