Reliquary description
Silver reliquary from the XVIIIth Century, probably made in commemoration of her recent canonization in 1767. It shows an intricate and beautiful French silver filigree work which presents the reliquary at the center with the Holy Spirit on top coming out of sun rays, all surrounded by silver flowers.Safely kept under a glass we can see the relic of Saint Jane Frances de Chantal with its name resting on a scarlet silk background surrounded by silver bullion thread.
At the back of the reliquary, we find a episcopalian wax seal holding the scarlet silk threads guaranteeing the authenticity of the holy relic.
The reliquary is safely kept in it original leather case.
Condition
Pristine, reliquary and case are in extraordinary condition, little wear, very rare.Provenance
