Reliquary description
Reliquary made in the 19th Century, safely kept under a glass we can see the relic resting on a bigger cross on top of a green silk.
At the back of the reliquary, we find an Episcopalian wax seal holding the intact red silk threads and sealing the relics inside and ensuring its authenticity.
Condition
Great condition. No missing parts. Wax seal seal shows signs of wear tear consistent with its age. The silk threads are intact and in their place. Beautiful patina.
History of Saint Amand
Amandus (c. 584 – 679), commonly called Saint Amand, was a bishop of Tongeren-Maastricht and one of the great Christian missionaries of Flanders. He is venerated as a saint, particularly in France and Belgium.
