French Holy Water Font Stoup Limoges Enamel Virgin Mary & Child Jesus 19th Cent

A unique 19th century French holy water font (stoup or bénitier) centered by an exquisite Limoges black and white kiln-fired enamel on copper plaque with a portrait miniature; depicting the birth of Jesus with Virgin Mary praying with a halo in gold overhead and lilies flowers (purity) on her right. 
Below is a large opened coquille shell. 
 
Composition in Neo-Gothic style resembling 16th century art, typical of the 19th century.
Mounted onto a wooden plaque, lined with silk and red velvet.
