Antique French Catholic Book – Belgian Christian Scriptures, Brussels 1770

This Catholic relic “Instructions et Prieres” contains different exercises regarding the Holy Piety and the benedict adoration of the “Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar” (L’Adoration Perpétuelle du Très-Saint Sacrement de L’Atuel”). It is worth mentions that when the exposition and adoration of the Eucharist (consecrated to the gifts of bread and of wine (transubstantiation)) is constant (24 h/day), it is called perpetual adoration. Likewise, the Most Blessed Sacrament (Très-Saint Sacrement) is a name given to the Eucharist as the source and summit of the life of the Church.

It is an original book published by Chez P. J. Lemmens in Brussels, 1770. This rare book gathers prayers and devotions reflecting not only the spiritual impact of the multi-diverse history of ideas but a religious variant, sanctified by the Pope Benedict XIII, in Europe during the 18th century and it is likely to be a piece of a high scientific and historical interest. This is one of the world's largest collections of religious works of this type, revealing much about our interpretation of the modern church and spirituality.
