19th Cent. Reliquary 1 St Class Relic St. Dominic + Wax Seal

This remarkable 19th-century reliquary holds a 1 st Class (From the body) Holy Relic of:
Saint Dominic - Founder of the Dominican Order
Was a Castilian Catholic priest and the founder of the Dominican Order. He is the patron saint of astronomers and natural scientists, and he and his order are traditionally credited with spreading and popularizing the rosary.
Reliquary description
The relic is safely kept under a glass resting on a gold thread silk background. 
At the back of the reliquary, we find the Episcopal’ s wax seal of His Eminence Cardinal Engelbert Sterckx, Archbishop of Mechelen, Primate of Belgium. The threads and wax seal are in outstanding condition guaranteeing the authenticity of this holy relic.
Condition
Great condition. No damage or missing parts. The silk threads and wax seal are intact and in their place. Beautiful patina.
