18 Cent Silver Reliquary 6 Relics Holy Veil Virgin Mary + Wax Seal
An exquisite 18th-century silver reliquary containing six sacred relics, carefully arranged and preserved beneath glass. The relics include relics of:
- Ex Velo B.M.V. (from the veil of the Blessed Virgin Mary)
- Saint Philomena
- Saint Joseph Oriol
- Three additional relics attributed to unidentified saints
The reverse retains its original ecclesiastical sealing elements, including wax seals and silk threads, which traditionally served to safeguard the relics and attest to their authenticity. These features contribute to the historical integrity and devotional significance of the reliquary.
Relics associated with the Blessed Virgin Mary have long been among the most venerated objects in Christian devotion, while Saint Philomena is honored as a young virgin martyr renowned for her steadfast faith and the many miracles attributed to her intercession.
